Obstetrics

UIMG Community Health Clinic’s Obstetrics is a low-cost, quality ultrasound facility currently in its 13th year of imaging in women’s health. Diagnostic Medical Sonographers perform obstetrical ultrasound exams under the direction of a board-certified Radiologist.

Diagnostic Exams services include: Early 1st trimester, First trimester, 2nd Trimester and 3rd Trimester evaluations, confirmation/dating of pregnancy, fetal growth/biometry, fetal anatomy surveys, and follow-up exams as indicated.

These exams also evaluate and screen for common complications that can lead to miscarriage in the first trimester, or structural abnormalities that lead to an outside referral for high-risk sonography.

As part of the obstetrical ultrasound evaluation, the mother’s pelvic region is also evaluated for any signs of complications. The UIMG clinics utilize state-of-the-art GE ultrasound equipment. Expectant mothers can receive a 3D keepsake image upon request.

Gynecology

UIMG Community Health Clinic's team routinely performs transabdominal ultrasound and endovaginal ultrasound which is a minimally invasive ultrasound where a special probe inserted into the vaginal area allows your provider to see pelvic structures in more detail than can be seen by transabdominal imaging alone.

  • Pelvic pain
  • Dysmenorrhea (painful menses)
  • Amenorrhea(lack of menses)
  • Menorrhagia (excessive menstrual bleeding
  • Menometrorrhagia (excessive irregular bleeding)
  • Dysparunia (painful intercourse)
  • Infertility
  • Delayed menses
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Post-menopausal bleeding
  • Signs or symptoms of pelvic infection
  • Evaluation of congenital abnormalities, 
  • Localization of an intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD)

Additional indications include screening for malignancy in patients at risk and urinary incontinence.

Breast Ultrasound Imaging

Initial imaging evaluation of palpable breast masses in patients under 30 years of age who are not at high risk for development of breast cancer.

OB Ultrasound

OB Ultrasound (Obstetric Ultrasound) is one of the most widely established andmost  recognizable use of ultrasound in medicine today.  From confirmation of pregnancy through to the late stages of the 3rd trimester pregnancy.

Obstetrical ultrasound is useful to screen for maternal complications, for fetal growth, for multiple gestations in pregnancy, for screening for certain fetal anomalies or other suspected complications of pregnancy.
